The famous Pokebowl project
A crowd pleaser typically offered to younger students, the Poke bowl Project introduces students to the color wheel, line types and mixed media sculpture. Students are tasked with creating a 6 sectioned drawing on paper bowls. Each ‘slice’ displays the powers of their Pokémon (creature). Watercolor is then applied, after teaching how to use light to dark value and which colors complement. A plastic egg is then decorated atop yarn glued to the bottom of the bowl. The climax of the project is the introduction to clay hand building culminating in students sculpting their own Pokémon character out of clay.
